Las Vegas Strip MedMen becomes first location to unionize in Nevada
Las Vegas, NV – Workers at MedMen dispensary in Las Vegas voted to join the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 711 in order to build a better life and secure the protections and benefits they deserve under a union contract.
MedMen worker Sandra Becerril said the following:
“It is time for cannabis workers in Vegas to be recognized for the labor and value we provide. We look forward to standing united with my coworkers and our union representatives to work with our employer to negotiate for the pay, protections, and benefits we have earned and deserve.”
As America’s largest cannabis union, the UFCW has spent over a decade in this emerging industry advocating for workers and fighting to establish critical labor protections – this includes ensuring the industry grows to include more jobs that are safe, equitable, and family sustaining.
