Position Description
Provides leadership to facilitate integration across all levels of the UFCW in close collaboration with UFCW’s Director of Information Technology. Solve issues by having a universal approach to the concept of people, process, and technology each contributing to the success of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works closely with the President’s Office to create strategic plans that contribute to the future growth of the organization.
- Works closely with the Information Technology Director and other executive staff to ensure the organization’s mission/objectives can be technically and financially supported. Reports findings to the President’s Office
- Works closely with the Information Technology Director to oversee the security of UFCW’s data and equipment.
- Works closely with Directors for Communication, Political, Collective Bargaining and Organizing to ensure that data is integrated with planning, targeting, and implementation of initiatives at UFCW.
- Provides leadership and recruitment assistance as required to meet approved objectives.
- Works closely with the Legal Department to ensure information processes and procedural policies are in compliance with all applicable laws.
- Works closely with consultants and others internally to develop and implement new technologies to ensure they survey UFCW department and programmatic needs.
- Establish reporting framework for activities at the International and regional level for executive leaders.
- Writes department annual budgets and administer funds according to budget approval.
- Other duties as assigned by the International President.

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline, advanced degree preferred. Four years’ experience managing and/or directing a data operation. Strategic planning and execution experience required.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Union experience preferred.
Job Demands
Work involves travel and/or temporary relocation and/or irregular or unpredictable hours. Work often is performed with multiple projects occurring simultaneously under deadline. Valid driver’s license is required.
Working Conditions
The work is performed in a normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel assignments may involve a wide variety of working environments.
Physical Demands
This position involves, but is not limited to, written and oral communications skills, use of computer keyboard, close vision, sitting for long periods, stooping, bending and reaching.
Compensation
Salary Range: $135,000 – $150,000
